Duzhe continues the Horytsvit art-therapy program for young people who have experienced displacement, loss, and other consequences of the full-scale invasion. We keep the information on this page concise on purpose: the focus is on the program, the people we serve, and the systems we are building to sustain the work.
Over the past three years our camp format has welcomed 409 teenagers (13–16) across 18 two-week sessions in the Carpathians. Each camp blends creative practices, movement, time outdoors, and intentional group rituals so that participants can regulate emotions, share experiences, and rebuild confidence.
What we focus on
- Psychological support through art therapy, theatre, music, and guided reflection sessions.
- Educational and peer-support elements that encourage leadership, mutual care, and practical coping skills.
- A safe environment maintained by trained mentors, mental-health practitioners, and medical staff.
A core team of roughly a dozen people leads the work: art therapists, educators, coordinators, a psychologist, a medic, and a mountain guide who understand the needs of displaced teenagers. They are supported by a wider volunteer circle whenever a camp is in session.
